A simple, inspiring, beautiful piece for piano and strings. Light orchestration (flute, horn, percussion, bassoon) sparsely added throughout.
Over The Falls
A flowing, enchanting, mysterious piece for orchestra. Photo eloquently captured by Tom Heim on a tranquil morning near a brook in Enders State Forest in New England.
The River
I did not originally intend for this piece to sound so sad. That all changed when I started playing around with Cinematic Studio Series’ new Solo Strings library. They naturally have an expressive and emotional sound (heavy in vibrato) which definitely helped inspire the somber, bittersweet mood in the music. After finishing the piece, I struggled to pick a name for the music. I almost named it ‘No More Pain’ or ‘Solitude’, but ultimately decided upon ‘The River’ after discovering one of my father’s photos which I felt really resonated with the music.

Gamer’s Generation OST
It’s been over a year since I wrote the music for the hit Chinese action web series ‘Gamer’s Generation’, and now I’m finally able to release the entire soundtrack! The music is influenced by several genres, including anime, electronic, rock, and modern cinematic / orchestral. I collaborated closely with director / filmmaker Jon Truei to create the soundtrack – our umpteenth collaboration to date (I’ve lost track!)
The full album is available on iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, and CD Baby.
Inspirations, Vol. 1

As Time Went By
Deep inside the valleys of the Annapurna region of Nepal lie thick jungles, rushing rivers, ancient villages, and the world’s highest peaks. A 125-mile long path known as the Annapurna Circuit cuts through. As I climbed slowly along this path towards the small riverside village of Tal, I peered through a gorge facing the setting sun. I stopped here for a while to take in the majestic beauty of the Himalayan mountains; their highest peaks hidden from view by the surrounding cliffs and the humidity of the approaching monsoon season. I imagine that deep in this gorge, untouched by modern civilization, nothing has really changed.
Roof of the World
One of the most dramatic places on Earth, the Khumbu Valley trek to Everest Base Camp is one of the highlights of my life. Stunning Himalayan peaks, pristine views, traditional Nepali food and culture, and Mt Everest itself towering high above. I compiled some photos and composed this track a few months after returning home.
